(77WABC) — A new report says over one third— 35 percent — of full time working families cannot meet weekly expenses for housing, food, medical care, transport, child care and other expenses despite working full time.

The report comes from a new Brandeis University study of 98,000 households.

The economy and rising prices remain a top concern for voters heading in to November’s midterms—-as gas prices have fallen to $3.78 per gallon and inflation dipped to 8.5 percent in July.

More than half of Hispanic and Black families cannot afford basic needs, compared to a quarter of white families and 23 percent of Asian and Pacific Islander families.
