(77WABC) — Federal judge Bruce Reinhart — who approved the FBI’s raid on former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence — has scheduled arguments for Thursday in West Palm Beach on opposing requests to release the search warrant affidavit.
The Justice Department is expected to argue against disclosure of the document. Trump and allies want it released “unredacted.”
The DOJ said Monday it opposes the release of the affidavit used to justify the August 8 raid, but added that it was willing to release less descriptive documents.
Trump said in a statement late Monday that “in the interest of transparency, I call for the immediate release of the completely unredacted affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking break-in.”
Trump added, “also, the judge on this case should recuse!”
