NEW YORK (77WABC) — Protestors are taking to the streets this week over the future of carriage horses as advocates want to put an end to it.
A horse named Ryder collapsed Wednesday on Manhattan’s West Side at 45th Street and 9th Avenue as police doused him with water and ice for possible heat exhaustion. Once Ryder arrived back at the stable, a veterinarian diagnosed him with a neurological disease.
Ryder will undergo a blood test that should confirm the diagnosis.
