NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is searching for a man who attacked an 80-year-old woman on a Bronx-bound 6 train over the weekend.

Police say on Saturday, August 6 around 4:30 p.m., the woman was on the train at the Lexington Avenue and East 68th Street subway station, when an unidentified man hit her with his hands multiple times on her head, back and shoulder — unprovoked — causing her to fall to the floor. The man then exited the train at the East 59th Street subway station and fled to parts unknown.
The woman refused medical attention at the scene.
The man is described as around 40 to 45 years of age, 6’2″ tall, 170lbs; last seen wearing a black shirt, black and red leather jacket, baggy jeans, red and black sneakers and carrying a large paper bag.
