NEW YORK (77 WABC) — New York State Agricultural officials are warning about the growing spotted Lanternfly Population.
The wine industry could lose 300 million dollars in vineyard damage.
The Lanternfly was first spotted in the New York Metropolitan area two years ago on Staten Island. But its now spread throughout the state, including Long Island and Rockland County.
The insect feeds on more than 70 types of plants.
