NEW YORK (77WABC) — Mayor Eric Adams today called the weekend attack on a NYPD transit officer a “clear case” for rolling back New York’s bail reform law in order to crack down on violent criminals.
The incident occurred at the 125th Street station in Harlem on Saturday night. The officer told the 16 year old male teen to leave the station after the officer allegedly witnessed him evading the fare.
Police say the teen was arrested Wednesday prior to the attack for robbery and was reportedly carrying a gun. He was eventually released without bail.
