5 Fatal Shootings in the Bronx and Brooklyn Overnight

NEW YORK (77WABC) — There were five shootings across the Bronx and Brooklyn overnight — all of them being fatal.

Around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, police say they found a 26-year-old man unconscious in Brownsville area of Brooklyn with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS transported the man to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

At about 10:45 p.m., police say a 31-year-old man was shot in the torso in front of 686 East 234 Street in the Bronx. He was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police also say around 11:00 p.m., a man was found with a gunshot wound in his left leg near 186 Thomas Boyland Street in Brooklyn. The man was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police say they responded to a man shot in the torso at 273 Lincoln Avenue in Brooklyn. He was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Also, around 1 a.m. Wednesday in the Bronx, police responded to a call of a man shot in the torso in front of 2323 Grand Concourse. He was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man was identified as 34-year-old Melquan Cooper of the Bronx.

There have been no arrests made in any of the five cases.
