Intern Dean Pavlou – Mets Start Series Vs Marlins

celebrating-100-years-2

The Mets head into tonight’s game with the Marlins 2.5 games up on the Atlanta Braves. In their next two series the Mets will play Miami and Atlanta. Miami has been playing better of late and has won six out of their last seven games coming into this series vs the Mets. The Marlins pitching has been great with Sandy Alcantara and Pablo Lopez leading the charge. Alcantara is 9-3 with a 1.82 ERA, while Lopez is 5-4 with a 2.97 ERA for Miami. With the Braves series coming up the Mets can’t overlook this four-game set vs Miami because they’re playing good baseball right now and are feeling confident about the direction, they’re heading in. After coming back to win last night over the Reds 8-3 the Mets look like they have broken out of the slump they were in for the past few weeks. New York pounded out 16 hits and looked good last night at the plate after being shutout the previous night. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for New York who will look to increase their division lead before the All-Star break in a couple of weeks.
