Intern Dean Pavlou – The Celtics Are Running Out of Time

homepage-5

After losing game four by a score of 107-97 the Celtics were hoping to put together a better effort in game five on the road. Unfortunately for Boston that didn’t happen which lead to another 10-point loss in Golden State 104-94. The Celtics missed their first 12 three pointers and really struggled to find the range throughout the game. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart didn’t play poorly last night but didn’t get much help in their game five loss. Tatum shot 10 of 20 from the field and 5 of 9 from three-point range with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists while Marcus Smart shot 7 of 15 from the field and 3 of 6 from the three-point line with 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Grant Williams, and Derrick White all struggled for Boston which led to them losing a pivotal game five on the road.

After scoring 43 points and leading the Warriors to a game four win at home Steph Curry went 0 for 9 in Golden State’s game five win. This was the first time in Curry’s career that he didn’t make a three pointer in the playoffs. Andrew Wiggins was the star of the show in game five last night going 12 of 23 from the field with 26 points and making some clutch buckets down the stretch. Klay Thompson was another player who stepped up for the Warriors last night going 7 of 14 from the field, and 5 of 11 from three with 21 points. This was a huge game five win for the Warriors as they now are just one win away from winning their fourth NBA title under Steve Kerr. I think this series will end up going the distance because I believe that the Celtics will take game six at home. We will see what the basketball gods have in store for the Celtics.
