After going up 2 games to 0 in the Eastern Conference finals the Rangers lost the next four games falling to the Lightning in six games. This ended an incredible run for the Blueshirts which featured a comeback series win against both the Penguins and Hurricanes. The Rangers were never expected to make it this far but in doing so, I think it will help this young team a lot next year and down the road. Some of the players who I think will benefit the most from the Rangers’ deep playoff run are Alexis Lafreniere who is only 20, Filip Chytil who is only 22, and Kaapo Kakko who is 21. It’s hard to say if the Rangers will be in this position again next year but they have a lot of talent all over the ice with Adam Fox, Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider, and Igor Shesterkin in goal. I think this team has the potential to be really good for a long time, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
