The Mets finished off their road trip by beating the Angels 4-1 on Sunday Night baseball and winning the series. The Mets finish off a 5-5 road trip which is solid for a Mets team that is now 40-22 on the season and has the best record in the National League. The Yankees and Mets are the first team to 40 wins in MLB history. The Mets lead the NL East by 5.5 games over the Atlanta Braves who just won 11 games in a row. The Mets will head back home for a six game homestand against the Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins who they will play for the first time this year. Even though New York’s lead has gone down from 10.5 games to 5.5 games I’m still confident that this Mets team is poised to win this division, and will only get better once deGrom and Scherzer return.
