(Yaphank, NY)-Suffolk County police say a man riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle was killed Monday night in Rocky Point. Police say the man was operating his motorcycle southbound on Rocky Point Yaphank Road, between Whiskey Road and Route 25A, when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 9:35 p.m.
Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
