(77WABC) — As Americans kick off the unofficial start of Summer, motorists face record high gas prices with inflation at a 40 year high under the Biden administration.
According to AAA, the national average is $4.60 a gallon — the highest recorded average ever. In California, a gallon of gas has skyrocket to as much $7.25 at at least nine stations — the same as minimum wage.
US #gasprices this Memorial Day could be not just higher than any other Memorial Day, but $1/gal higher than the previous record of $3.66/gal from 2014.

Despite pain at the pumps, AAA forecasts that 39 million people will travel more than 50 miles from their homes this holiday weekend. That’s an 8% jump from last year when gas was about $3 a gallon on average.
