Poll: Americans Growing Increasingly Frustrated With State of the Country

(77WABC) — There’s been some pessimism growing among Americans.

A new CBS/YouGov poll finds 60% of those polled agree that the state of the nation is unsettling amid inflation at a 40-year high and record gas prices. There’s also a 23% jump in the number of Americans that see the economy as bad — up from 46% in the spring to 69% now.

Inflation in March climbed to 8.5% in march year over year. Gas prices have hit $4.59 a gallon on average across the nation, according to AAA.

Nearly all Democrats and Republicans in the survey indicted they want political candidates to focus on inflation as a top election issue.
