WASHINGTON (77WABC) — There’s been some sinking support for President Joe Biden and the Democratic party.
A key group of the President’s supporters— Hispanics— are voicing dissatisfaction with the president. Only 26% of Hispanics told a Quinnipiac University Poll that they support the President.
As a matter of fact the poll finds Biden is less popular among Hispanics than another other demographic group. It’s a huge drop from 55% of Hispanics who supported Biden in the poll last year.
Approval ratings for Biden among young Americans stands at 27% and among white men 29%. Biden’s highest approval ratings are among black Americans at 63% and older Americans at 45% approval, according to the poll.
The president has faced heavy criticism for his handling of the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. The poll comes just days away before the Biden administration plans to lift Title 42 — a Trump-era rule allowing border officials to quickly deport most migrants.
