Details have come out recently from a worker at tops in the moments leading up to the shooting in Buffalo. A girl named Shonnell Harris Teague who is the operations manager of a store called tops said that two customers complained about 18-year-old Payton Gendron, who was asking people for money. Harris Teague recalls meeting Gendron in the meat department area, where she asked him to leave because he was making the other customers uncomfortable. The next day when Harris Teague saw Gendron again she recognized that he was wearing the same clothes as he was the previous day. Gendron ended up killing 10 people and hurting three others during his shooting spree. Harris Teague recalls being right outside of Tops with her daughter when she heard gun shots, and people screaming and crying for help.
This was a very tragic day for the people of Buffalo and for all the families that had people involved in the shooting. Even though I think it will be difficult, I hope that we can find a solution to fixing the amount of gun violence we see in the world so that we can begin to create peace in the world rather than hate.
