NEW YORK -(77WABC)- Cases of the COVID are on the rise.
The New York State Health Department is recommending that people in high-risk counties wear masks in all indoor public settings, even if they’re vaccinated.
According to the CDC, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, and Ulster counties are now considered high risk.
Most of New York City is listed at medium risk; the Bronx is considered low risk. However NYC health commissioner Dr Ashwin Vasan says its possible mask mandates may be required if things get worse.
