MOSCOW (77WABC) — Vladimir Putin suffered another blow with the death of his 39th colonel in his bloody war in Ukraine.
DailyMail has reported that 36-year-old Lt-Col Fezul Bichikaev was a high-flying elite soldier who died on a secret intelligence mission. The father-of-three is being portrayed as a hero who was killed near Kharkiv ‘with a machine gun in his hands covering his subordinates’, according to reports in Russia.
The report says that he was one of Russia’s youngest colonels, second in command of his regiment, and his death amounted to ‘a heavy, irreparable loss’. According to known statistics, nine generals and 38 colonels have been killed since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, however Russia has not come clean on the total amount of deaths.
Reports have claimed that the US has offered intelligence to Ukraine to help target high ranking commanders, destroying morale in the Russian forces.
