NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a group of people involved in the stabbing of a Times Square food cart worker over the weekend.

It was reported to police that on Saturday, April 30 around 3:15 a.m., in front of 700 8th Avenue, the 36-year-old worker got into an argument with three people, before more came over began to punch and kick the worker in the face and body. A garbage can was also thrown at the victim, and he was stabbed 3 times in his shoulder and back.

The man was then robbed of his sunglasses and cellphone before the group fled eastbound on 44th Street towards 7th Avenue. The worker was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
