carjacking
NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is asking help in identifying the individuals and vehicle in a new video released this week — in connection to a robbery in the Bronx last month.
It was reported to police that on Wednesday March 30 around 6:40 p.m. near 610 Exterior Street, the 53-year-old male victim, the operator of a Kia van, collided with a Lexus SUV as they traveled northbound on Exterior Street. The collision caused both vehicles to hit a parked and unoccupied Honda sedan.
After the crash, 5 unknown men and the 23-year-old driver of the Lexus surrounded the victim’s vehicle. One of the men climbed on top of the victim’s vehicle as the driver of the Lexus punched the victim in the face repeatedly.
The victim ran from the scene and two of the men entered the van and drove northbound on Exterior Street. Three of the men fled the scene inside of the Honda sedan.
The 23-year-old male driver of the Lexus was taken into custody and was identified Miquiel Guerrero — charged with robbery. The five who fled were described as light-skinned males, 18 to 25 years old.
EMS transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital with cuts to the face and a fractured eye socket.
