NEW YORK (77 WABC) — 23 people attempting to cross the U.S. Mexico border, were on the terror watch list in 2021. That according to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents which apprehended the individuals.
The information was provided to Fox News under a freedom of information request.
The apprehensions took place between January 20th and December 27th of last year. Agents use the terrorist screening database (TSDB).
It contains information about the identities of those who are known or “reasonably suspected” of being involved in terrorist activities. Republicans lawmakers have repeatedly called for the number of those encountered at the border to be made public by the administration.
