Ukraine: war in Ukraine.
NEW YORK (77 WABC) — National Secretary Advisor Jake Sullivan said Sunday that President Biden has no plans to visit Ukraine, despite a visit Saturday to Ukraine by UK prime minister Boris Johnson.
In an interview on CBS 60 Minutes Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainians are defending the ability of a person to live in the modern world. He also rejected the claim he is fighting for western values.
“We are defending the right to live,” he said. “I never thought this right was so costly. These are human values. So that Russia doesn’t choose what we should do and how I’m using my rights. That right was given to me by God and my parents.”
Russian invaded Ukraine on February 24th. Russian forces are regrouping having moved to Eastern Ukraine where fighting was waged for nearly 8 years in the Donbas region.
Zelensky has warned Russia is planning to terrorize all of Europe. Russia’s reported appointment of General Alexander Dvornikov to take over operations in Ukraine marked what some military analysts see as an indication that Moscow intends to terrorize civilians as the war progresses.
Ukrainian officials say another mass grave has been found near Burzova.
