New York, NY (77WABC)-After a lockout caused a delay to the start of the 2022 MLB season,  baseball fans will have to wait just a little bit longer for the start of the Yankees/Red Sox seasons.

The Yankees have announced Thursday’s  home opener between the Bronx Bombers and the Boston Red Sox has been postponed until Friday, due to the threat of inclement weather.

The game is rescheduled for Friday at 1:05 pm. The Yankees say ticketholders for Thursday’s game will have their tickets honored for Friday’s game or tickets can be exchanged for another game later in the season.

The game will be broadcast on the YES Network. Gates will open to fans with valid tickets at 11:00 a.m. Pregame ceremonies are scheduled to begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
