New Poll Suggests Competitive Primary with Hochul and Cuomo

NEW YORK (77 WABC) — A new Siena College poll finds that disgraced ex NY Governor Andrew Cuomo would instantly transform an non competitive democratic primary into a competitive contest.

The poll finds Cuomo with 30% support among registered Democrats. NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, who replaced Cuomo when he resigned, has 38% support. Without Cuomo in the race, the poll indicates Hochul at 52% support, holding a commanding 40-point lead, with public advocate Jumaanee Williams at 12% and Congressman Tom Suozzi at 11%.

Cuomo has been testing the waters in recent weeks as he eyes a possible comeback bid for governor. He resigned last August after a State Attorney General’s report found he sexually harassed 11 women. Cuomo denies wrongdoing.
