New York, New York -(77WABC)- Firefighters extinguished a small fire that started on an outdoor terrace at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on East 74th street in Manhattan.
Fire Investigators say the fire broke out before 2 O’clock Tuesday afternoon. They say some wood decking had caught fire on a 6th floor terrace. No injuries were reported.
Multiple floors had been evacuated.  All were later allowed to return to the facility. Thick black smoke from the building could be seen for miles across the East River in Queens. Traffic was blocked off on surrounding streets.
