Seattle Seahawks agree to trade Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to trade Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, pending physical and Wilson’s approval of the deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.  NFL Network confirmed the deal and reported that Denver will send defensive lineman Shelby Harris, tight end Noah Fant and quarterback Drew Lock as part of the deal. Seattle is also getting two first-round draft picks, two second-round draft picks and one fifth-round pick from Denver. Denver gets a fourth-round pick along with Wilson.

The deal is reported to be one of the largest in NFL history, and comes just hours after it was reported that Aaron Rodgers is staying with the Green Bay Packers, signing a four-year contract extension worth $200M.  The 32-year-old quarterback was the subject of trade rumors last offseason, but remained in Seattle. Wilson has spent the first 10 years of his career with the Seahawks, playing in two Super Bowls and winning one. Seattle posted a winning record in each of Wilson’s first nine seasons.
