Is it appropriate or not to 'take a knee' during the 'Big Game?'
During “The Big Game,” it is traditional to highlight our military; the Honor Guard, and faraway places where our soldiers, are serving such as the U.S Arcent Soldiers in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
The Traditional Flyover is synchronized to the second to fly over the stadium at the end of the National Anthem. This year, it was The U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight Team. The field is covered with a large American Flag.
Security for “The Big Game” is provided by thousands of groups, including local police.
The Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department said that 13 local Law enforcement agencies work with 10 Federal Agencies, including NORAD, The FBI and Border Protection to ensure the safety of all attending “The Big Game.”
All these people risk their lives to protect everyone in the stadium and its surroundings, including players, team owners, fans, celebrities and halftime talent.
As a way of protesting racism and police brutality, as quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, ‘took a knee’ – kneeled during the national anthem which began a movement of others following suit.
