NEW YORK (77WABC) — Political insiders tell the Wall Street Journal that former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo may challenge New York Attorney General Letitia James in the upcoming election.
Insiders told the Journal it’s because of comments he’s made about James and the state’s current political climate. Cuomo, the former state AG, resigned as Governor last August, after James’ scathing report found that he sexually harassed 11 women.
Cuomo’s possible run is seen as retribution for the findings that came out of James’ office. Cuomo served as Attorney General from 2007 to 2010.
In December 2020, former aide Lindsey Bolan became the first woman to go public with her sexual harassment claims against Cuomo. Cuomo denied allegations and refused all calls to resign until James’ released her report.
