Columbia grad student stabbed to death while jogging

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -(77WABC)- There’s new information regarding the Columbia University graduate student who was stabbed to death Thursday night.

Gothamist.com is reporting the victim was jogging in Morningside Park when he was stabbed.

The suspect was caught by police inside Central Park and taken into custody.

30 year old Davide Giri, a doctoral student at Columbia, was stabbed in the stomach while leaving the Park just before 11 p.m.

He stumbled out of the park and collapsed at West 123rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 27 year old tourist was also stabbed minutes later on West 110th Street. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
