New York, NY (77WABC)-One of two officers shot in the Bronx Wednesday night, is now recovering at home. Officer Alejandra Jacobs, on the force for just one year, was released from the hospital Thanksgiving Day after being shot twice in her arm after she and her partner responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man with a gun.
Fellow officers were on hand to greet her as Jacobs was released from the hospital:
There’s a lot to be thankful for this #Thanksgiving .Last night, a gunman fired on officers in the Bronx. Two were struck. Today, one hospitalized officer is going home just in time to be w/family for the holiday – but not before receiving a hero’s walk-out from her blue family. pic.twitter.com/hZrRaygqQQ

Jacob’s male partner, an 8 year veteran of the force, had a bullet travel through his chest and remains hospitalized.
Police shot the suspect, 23-year-old Charlie Vasquez of Greenpoint Brooklyn. He was hospitalized and is expected to survive.
NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea described Vasquez as a career criminal during a press conference Wednesday night. Shea said the weapon Vasquez allegedly used, was stolen out of Georgia.
