Police Respond To Shooting in New York, US – 08 May 2021
NEW YORK (77WABC) — Three men were shot after gunfire erupted outside a Midtown recording space Tuesday night.
Sources tell the New York Post that at least ten shots were exchanged between two groups outside the location near West 38th Street and Fifth Avenue where a music video was being shot — a little after 10:30 p.m. The shots started after a group from Fort Greene, Brooklyn posted about the event on social media.
Another group from Crown Heights noticed the posts and showed up at the event and opened fire when the Fort Greene crew left the event, according to the Post’s report.
The report adds that one of the three victims was shot in the torso and suffered life-threatening injuries, the second victim was hit in the abdomen, and the third man was hit in the leg. All three victims were hospitalized.
Sources add police are looking to question about two dozen people who remained inside the building after the shots rang out. The cause of the shooting was not known as of Tuesday night.
