NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD Thursday responded to a call of a hit-and-run incident where a man was killed near Port Authority.
According to police, the 58-year-old victim was lying down underneath the vehicle, for unknown reasons, near 41st Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan just before 9 p.m. The vehicle proceeded to run over him over before leaving.
Officers who arrived found the man lying on the road with severe head trauma. EMS responded to the location and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The identity of the man has not been revealed, pending proper family notification.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
