Brooklyn, New York (77 WABC) – City employees protested the city-wide vaccine mandate over the weekend in front of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Protestors marched over to City Hall to reaffirm their disagreement over the mandate in hopes that they will not have to get vaccinated to keep their jobs. Many protestors are trying to make it clear that they believe getting vaccinated should be a choice and not a requirement.

NYC employees, including teachers and police officers, who do not comply will be placed on unpaid leave. Employees have until 5 p.m. Friday to receive their first shot of one of the several authorized COVID-19 vaccines if they do not want to be placed on unpaid leave beginning Monday, November 1.
