More Rain On It’s Way for the Tri-State; A Flash Flood Watch Issued

New York, NY (77WABC)-The tri-state region is bracing for more rainfall. The National Weather Service has issued a  Flash Flood Watch from this Afternoon through Friday morning.

The NWS says a Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for a specific hazardous weather event to occur.

Weather officials say a period of heavy rainfall is likely with the passage of a slow moving cold front.

A widespread 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is forecast, with locally higher amounts possible.

Wind gusts to 30 mph are also forecast.

The NWS says the watch affects the following areas: portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern
Connecticut, Southern Fairfield. In northeast New Jersey, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, NorthernWestchester, Orange, Putnam, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland, Southern Nassau, Southern Queens and Southern Westchester.
