NEW YORK (77WABC) — Governor Kathy Hochul announced Thursday a new vaccine incentive program in partnership with all three New York NFL teams to push vaccinations among currently unvaccinated New Yorkers.
The program includes a multiscale marketing effort and the #VaxandWin Football Sweepstakes with the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants, and the New York Jets — urging all unvaccinated New York adults and school-aged children who are eligible to get vaccinated this fall as New Yorkers return to their everyday activities.

“I believe that there’s a lot of people out there who will be persuaded when they see people that they’ve admired of throughout your careers,” Hochul said at a press briefing with former NFL players. “As we heard about the team efforts, this truly is a team effort for all New Yorkers. And I’m very competitive. I want to win this game. I want to beat back COVID. I want to emerge victorious. To me, that’s our Superbowl, beating back COVID, winning our Superbowl as New Yorkers.”
“I thank New York’s teams—the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants, and the New York Jets—for kicking this creative program off with us, and joining the State in spreading the message on the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” Hochul added. “If you’ve been waiting, now is the time to get vaccinated.”
The campaign also includes the integration of the State’s vaccine messaging across each team’s media channels including television, radio in English and Spanish through the New York Giants, podcast, digital, and social media to reach all New Yorkers.
According to the CDC, over 80% of New York adults have received at least one vaccine dose, while just under 60% of 12 to 17-year-olds and almost 70% of 16 to 25-year-old’s have received at least one vaccine dose.
