Man Killed in the Bronx Overnight After Being Shot in the Face

NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD says that a 28-year-old man was shot dead in the Bronx Thursday night.

Police say the victim was shot in the face at East 220th Street near Carpenter Avenue in the Olinville section of the Bronx around 9:10 p.m. Officers responding to the incident found him lying unconscious and unresponsive.

He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Cops are unclear if he was the intended target, or the motive of the shooting. No arrests have been made, and the victim’s name has not been released pending family notification.
