A Teen Assaulted on the “F” Line for Refusing to Give a Suspect $1

New York, NY (77WABC) -Police say a 16-year-old male was kicked in his abdomen and leg, pushed and had anti-white statements made against him by a man he refused to give $1 to.

Police say the attack happened around 8:15 in the morning on Sunday, September 12th inside of the East Broadway Station along the “F” subway line.

The teenager was physically and verbally assaulted after the man police are looking for asked the teen for money. Despite suffering pain and bruising, the teen refused medical attention at the scene.

Police say the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Dashboard shows that there have been ten reported hate crimes against White people so far this year resulting in a total of three arrests. The dashboard can be viewed here.

The attached photo and video show the unidentified suspect inside of the East Broadway Station, according to police.
