NEW YORK, NY (77WABC) – Former President Trump made a surprise visit to the NYPD and FDNY in honor of the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.
In true Trump fashion, he took a swipe at President Biden by criticizing how the United States pulled out of Afghanistan. He said, “It was gross incompetence.”Trump also said, clearly alluding to the defund the police movement, “We’re not supposed to say it, but I’ll say it. We love the Blue.”
Trump left the NYPD’s 17th Precinct in midtown around 2 pm and then headed down to a Ground Zero firehouse. Many cheered and asked him for his autograph. Dozens of firefighters and police officers also took photos with the former president. “I’ve been given so much support by the people who do what you do,” Trump said.
