New York, NY (77WABC)- Former Presidential Candidate and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar recently revealed that back in February, she was diagnosed with breast cancer after a lump was found during a routine check-up. Senator Klobuchar was then diagnosed with Stage1A breast cancer per the NY Post. On a positive note, Stage 1A means that the cancer had not yet spread.
In may 2021, Klobuchar underwent radiation and had the lump removed before stating that as of last month, she’s in the clear. She also urges people to not put off going to the doctor as she pushed back her check-up’s many times due to the pandemic.
Klobuchar states: “Of course this has been scary at times, since cancer is the word all of us fear, but at this point my doctors believe that my chances of developing cancer again are no greater than the average person.”
