New York, NY (77WABC)- Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being mocked for using the term “menstruating persons” to Texas Governor Greg Abbott regarding his new 6-week abortion ban. Is AOC aware (no matter how woke she wants to be) using the term ‘woman’ doesn’t make you a conservative?! Last we checked, men don’t get their periods.
Oscasio-Cortez told Anderson Cooper, “I don’t know if he is familiar with a menstruating person’s body. In fact, I do know that he’s not familiar with a female or menstruating person’s body because if he did, he would know that you don’t have six weeks- six weeks pregnant means two weeks late for your period.”
Many people took to twitter to call out AOC’s ‘wokeness.’ Per the NY Post:
“HAHAHAHA. AOC just tripped over the lingo for a ‘menstruating woman’ with on CNN. Jumped from woman to female to person,” conservative radio host Erick Erickson tweeted.
“I just saw a clip of AOC referring to ‘a menstruating person.’ It would kill her to use the word ‘woman?’,” one Twitter user wrote.
"He speaks from such a place of deep ignorance, and it's not just ignorance. It's ignorance that's hurting people."
