TOWSON, Md. (77WABC) — Three people were shot on campus at Towson University early Saturday.

Baltimore County Police say that the shooting happened near the center of campus at Freedom Square, at about 2 a.m.

The three shooting victims were adults and were all located on campus. One of the victims was a female student.

“At this time, the scene is secure; however, we’re encouraging everyone, including all students, to remain away from the academic part of campus as police activity is ongoing,” said university president Kim Schatzel in a statement.

Police say they believe the shooting is an isolated incident. The Towson University Police issued an “all clear” for students and staff, meaning that there is no active threat.

The three injured were all taken to area hospitals for treatment and are all expected to survive. Police are still investigating the incident.
