When people are without their phones for whatever reason they begin to feel anxiety. The reason people feel anxious when they are not with their phones is because of the dopamine in our brain that makes us want to look at our phones more. Another reason we are so attached to our phones is because a lot of the interactions we have come through our phones whether its over text message, Instagram, Facebook, or twitter social media has become so prevalent in our day to day interactions. The reason I look at my phone a lot is because I am always looking for up to the minute sports news. A recent study by DR. David Greenfield found that 50% of teenagers feel that they are addicted to their phones.  Additionally people from the ages of 18-24 are on their phones for an average 5.2 hours a day. In fact “A 2013 survey cited by the Hungarian team reports that 79 percent of users keep their phones with them for all but two of their waking hours.” Many people say that they become very stressed when they are without their phones for a long period of time. All of the reasons listed above are big reasons why we are so attached to our phones.
