The San Francisco Giants came into this season with very few expectations. Many people thought that this roster was old and not ready to win now. Some people even predicted them to finish last in the NL West. The most incredible part about what the Giants are doing is that almost everyone on their team is having a career year. After sitting out last year The Giants star catcher Buster Posey is having a career year batting .314 with 15 home runs and  a .408 on base percentage. The biggest surprise of all is that career journeyman Darin Ruf is having the best year of his career. Ruf is batting .272, with 14 Home Runs, 33 RBI’s and an OPS of .941. The Pitching staff has also stepped up big time for San Francisco with Kevin Gausman leading the charge with an ERA of 2.47 and a win/loss record of 12-5. Anthony Desclafani is another pitcher that has done a great job for the Giants. Desclafani is pitching to a 3.26 ERA with a record of 11-5. Across the board the Giants have gotten contributions from everybody which is the reason why they are 80-44 so far this year.
