New York, NY (77WABC)- Ousted Governor Andrew Cuomo gave a farewell speech as today marks the end of his decade long reign as Governor of New York. Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will take over at midnight tonight making her the first female Governor of New York.
Cuomo seemed to hold back tears as he addressed New Yorkers during his farewell, and thanked them for ‘trusting’ him during COVID-19, as he echoed the phrase he coined, ‘New York Tough.’ He made sure to take a few digs at Attorney General Leticia James, which was quite obvious to the audience.
‘Facts still matter. The Attorney General’s report was designed to be a political firecracker on an explosive topic. And it worked. There was a political and media stampede. The truth will out in time,’ Governor Cuomo stated.
