Huntington Station, NY (77WABC)-A person heard gunshots ring out late Monday night in the area of Lowndes Avenue in Huntington Station calling 9-1-1 to report the gunfire.
Arriving police officers found a man lying in the street, in front of 56 Lowndes Ave., with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the fatal shooting.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The gunman remains at large.
