Mayor de Blasio Hosts Annual Sapolin Awards in New York, US – 27 Jul 2021
New York (77WABC) – Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday that there may be a vaccine mandate for bars and restaurants coming, in his latest effort to curb the spread of the Delta variant.
“Given everything we’re learning, all options are on the table,” de Blasio told “CNN Newsroom”. “I keep saying we’re climbing the ladder in terms of more and more mandates.”
The Delta Variant is deadly and this city is taking it seriously. Today I’m announcing that EVERY City government employee will be required to provide proof of vaccination or submit a weekly #COVID test. Join us at Bronx Borough Hall for more. #InTheBronx https://t.co/G9YsQCmNBP

This comes as de Blasio is requiring all city workers to get vaccinated or wear a mask and get tested weekly.
“Folks who are vaccinated are going to be able to experience all the things they love,” de Blasio continued. “And folks who are not vaccinated are going to find too many things they want to do they can’t do because they aren’t vaccinated. ”
REMINDER: as of Friday, get your first #COVID19 vaccine at a City-run site and you’ll get $100.
