Sara Feinberg Stepping Down as Interim President of the NYC Transit System But She May Return as Chair

New York, NY (77WABC)- According to the NY Post, Interim NYC Transit president Sarah Feinberg’s last day as Interim President is Friday.

Feinberg, from West Virginia, has served in the position for 17 months after being chose to replace former transit president Andy Byford.

Feinberg told the NY Post, the interim job has severely cut into time spent with her family. Feinberg has a 3-year-old daughter. Feinberg told the NY Post running NYC’s subways and buses is “24/7 job.”

She has led the city’s transit system during the viral pandemic which has left more than a 100 transit workers dead.

Feinberg’s time with NYC Transit may not be over with. If  the NY State Senate splits the agencies two top positions, she says she would consider staying on with the state as MTA chair.
