Holtsville, NY (77WABC)-Suffolk County Police say a 28-year-old Holtsville man died following a crash late Saturday night at the intersection of Country Road 83 and Fairview Avenue.
Police say detectives from the Fifth Squad are investigating the crash that killed 28-year-old Frank Shepard of Mount Sinai. Police say Shepard struck a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas whose driver was attempting to make a left hand turn onto County Road 83 at approximately 11:25 pm. The vehicle’s operator, Luis Cancio, of Glen Head was not hurt.
Police say Shepard was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
