NEW YORK —— (77WABC)
The price to ride of $2.75 is here to stay….at least for now.
An MTA agency official said today that there will not be a raise in fares until at least next year.
MTA finance committee chairperson Larry Schwartz made the announcement after a committee meeting Monday afternoon.
The agency was originally set to hike fares this past March, but pushed the increase back due to the financial toll the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on New York City residents.
“There’s not going to be a fare hike in 2021, period.”
MTA finance committee chair Larry Schwartz said a planned fare hike for mass transit riders would be pushed back until at least next year.https://t.co/4p2UTP2N4I
