Midtown-Elderly-Attack-Suspect
New York, NY (77WABC) — The search is on for a man, the NYPD believes, is responsible for attacking an elderly woman as she was exiting a midtown subway station Wednesday morning.
Late Thursday night, the NYPD released photos of the suspect — captured on nearby surveillance cameras.
Cops say the man approached the vulnerable victim as she was walking out of the East 59th Street N-R-W subway station at around 8 Wednesday morning — when he literally socked the victim in the head — forcing her to hit the ground.
Police say the victim was taken to an area hospital — after EMS responded to the scene.  Police say the victim had deep bruising over her right eye and bruising to the body.
This attack marks the third this week — reported by the NYPD — against people over the age of 65 here in New York City.  One of those attacks happened against the owner of a Brooklyn Laundromat by two woman earlier this week.  Surveillance video shows the woman bashing the owner with a vase, while kicking and punching him, all because he asks the woman to wear face masks.
